D-Vine Creatives Initiative was created by The D-Vine Drama Company
to support children, youth & young adults with theatre & film
The D-Vine Drama Company is growing!
While The D-Vine Drama Company had been providing theatre programs, we recognized the limitations of focusing solely on one art form. To offer a wider range of creative experiences, we established D-Vine Creatives Initiative Inc, a non-profit dedicated to supporting children, youth, and young adults in various artistic pursuits, beyond the stage.
We also wanted to provide more opportunities at less to no cost - so we felt reaching out to our community for sponsorship, partnership or support was the best way to keep us creating without having to charge fees and charges for all our programs.
Our projects, so far...
To give back to the community, D-Vine has been doing a lot already that was Not For Profit, we just didn't have the fancy "NFP" certificate to prove it - until now. We created and launched a webseries, where we taught young people how to film and then captured them and shared these videos online. The webseries, Youth Voices, came to a halt once we run out of funding and had no way of actually distributing the content. We've got a whole seasons worth of fun that we have filmed as part of this series for youth and young adults, but couldn't advertise or push it out there once we got to the end of the budget.
While working with the young people in both theatre and film projects, we also noticed they had a talent for other art too - and so we created and held our first Creative Youth & Kids Market, where every stall featured handmade goods and artworks by youth and kids.
We hired a bus and took 10 highschoolers on an excursion to Supanova on the Gold Coast, and although the students chipped in to the bus hire costs everything else was covered by Elysha & D-Vine.
We have supported other organisations and businesses since 2022 as well, having a team of our D-Vine students head on out to the Lantern Parade work shed after the floods to help clean lanterns and prepare for the 2022 Lantern Parade in Lismore. We have supported Lismore Theatre Company and have supported local TAFE film students in their filming adventures as well. When a student asked for help with a highschool filming assessment we stepped in, and when another student had a unique and creative concept for a Podcast we didn't hesitate to assist them as well. The students, Elysha and the new team behind D-Vine Creatives Initiative Incorporated all wish to continue these wonderful projects, activities and excursions - but it is now time to reach out for the communities help.
We aim to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where young people can explore their artistic potential, unleash their creativity, and pursue their artistic dreams.

This year, D-Vine Creatives is thrilled to partner with the Lismore Theatre Company to bring "A Holiday Dream" to life in a truly unique way. More than 30 talented young people are integral to every aspect of the production. From the young actors bringing our beloved fairytale characters to the stage, to a stunning dance number choreographed by a fellow D-Vine high schooler, and a show poster designed by another young artist, D-Vine's impact goes far beyond the stage. Our young people are also leading the production itself, taking on key roles such as stage manager, assistant director, and producer, demonstrating true leadership and collaboration. Directed by Elysha, the owner of D-Vine Drama Company, the show highlights the diverse skills and talents of young people and offers them a chance to learn, create and collaborate within their community. Join us in supporting this incredible collaboration that brings the magic of Christmas to life!
